INTRODUCTION
The
Motor Transport Unit
was shifted from the D.G.P.’s Quadrangle at Police Head Quarters to PAP
Barrack
Complex, Gorimedu, Puducherry.
One rest room for drivers is provided at SSP (C&I) Quadrangle.
Government Petrol Bunk fills
petrol and diesel to the department vehicles. Additional vehicles from the other departments
will be availed through GAW during special duties like Bundh, election, festival and other
important law and order duties etc.
Mini
Workshop:
Mini Workshop is located at the Police
Complex, Gorimedu. It is approximately 6 kms from the
Police Head Quarters, Puducherry. There are 1 HC (Mechanic) and
1 HG attending urgent minor repairs of the Police vehicles. The
major repairs and the replacement of spares etc., are being carried out
at Govt. Automobile Workshop, Puducherry by our Police personnel
viz. 1 HC (Mechanic), 3 PC (Helper), 2 PC (Electrician) and 1
HG.
One HC (Mechanic) is posted at Karaikal region on doing duty
basis for attending the repair works.
Special Riot Control Vehicles:
VAJRA
and VARUN (Water Cannon)
for dispersing unlawful assembly in
Puducherry region.
