INTRODUCTION  

      Police Photography unit started functioning from 1965. This police photography is used in all cases of crime requiring photographic evidence. This unit would be very useful in providing scientific aids/ information to the investigating officer about the scene of crime.

     Staff of the photography section are deployed round the clock as per schedule prepared by photography in charge.

DETAILS OF ACTIVITIES  

1. Assisting Investigating Officers in the investigation requiring Photographic evidences. Especially in Heinous Crimes, Property Offences, etc inclusive of cases under section 174 CrPC.

2. Taking of photos of Accused, DC's and KD's etc at the request of SHO and above.

3. Assisting Finger Print Expert to take the photograph of FP at scene of crime. Finger print specimen print enlargement.

4. Taking of photo / Video graphs at Police functions, Recruitments, V.V.I.P visits, Events at PTS, Agitation, Processions etc as per instruction

5. Taking of photo for Identity cards for Police Personnel.

6. Attend to the court duties as witness in important case of scene of crime.

7. Seminars regarding police photography to recruit police constable and refresher course to the police officers at police Training School.

8. Developing and Printing of Black and White film .

Instrumentation

1. Digital still and movie camera

2. Digital movie coverage program are recorded in VHS cassettes

3. Programs convert to CD.

MODERNIZATION  

          Since the police photo section used a digital still camera and digital movie camera in the coverage load in the Police photo section computer. The important processions, meeting, road rock, and all PS accused, converted CD and given CD to concern Police Station.
