TOPOGRAPHY
Dhanvanthri Nagar Police Station is
located on the Tindivanam main road opposite to JIPMER campus
adjacent to Pondicherry Armed Police Complex.
The D’Nagar Police Station
was functioning in the early days at Pakkamudaiyanpet junction
in the name of "PAKKAMUDAIYANPET POLICE STATION". In the year
1966, JIPMER was inaugurated then this PS was shifted to
D' Nagar
and it was renamed as “ DHANVANTHIRI NAGAR POLICE STATION @
D'Nagar PS“
It is to be noted that, this Police Station was functioning under
Muthialpet Circle having two out – Posts i.e. Lawspet and
Mettupalayam. In the year 1981, the Police Station was shifted
to a new building next to Dog Kennel [ the present PCR Police
Station] inside PAP complex. On 01.07.1991 the Muthialpet
Circle was bifurcated and the both the Out-Post Mettupalayam and
Lawspet were upgraded to Police Station. Out of which the
Mettupalayam Police Station was kept under D’ Nagar Circle and
Lawspet Police Station was attached to Muthialpet Circle. As the
public felt very inconvenient to reach the Police Station which
was located inside Police Complex, this new Police Station was
constructed on the Tindivanam Main road adjacent to Pondicherry
Armed Police Complex and since 23.09.1994, this Police Station
housed in the present building.
